Emerging from the sweaty environs of the notorious "Batcave" club in London's sleazy Soho in 1982 and now celebrating their 25th year, Alien Sex Fiend take their crazed live "Greatest Hits" anniversary show into an unsuspecting Spain with dates on May 9th in Madrid, May 10th in Valencia & May 11th in Barcelona, before a coast to coast tour of the U.S. in June. With the outrageous sounds of Mrs Fiend's bastard beats and killer keyboards driving the insane antics of singer, Nik Fiend, the gruesome twosome will be aided and abetted by the mysterious Gonzo, guesting on wig-city guitar.

Fifth on the list of artists with the most indie single chart entries, Alien Sex Fiend will be blasting out songs spanning their entire career. From early hits like "R.I.P." and "I Walk The Line", MTV's Beavis and Butthead classic "Now I'm Feeling Zombiefied", through to their soon-to-be unleashed monster of a new single "One Way Ticket To Venus". Along with a ghoulish spider-webbed stage set, comprising mutilated mannequins, body parts, skulls, bones and garbage cans, the hair raising Alien Sex Fiend Live Experience is a total audio visual assault.

We’ve made a few updates to the tour; more venues have been confirmed and a couple of changes were made :
- Unfortunately, we had to remove Cleveland and New Orleans from the schedule. We apologize to those looking forward to those dates.
- Florida folks, we’re headed your way! Show will be held at Revolution.
- Portland folks, we’ll be coming to your neck of the woods! Currently hammering out the details.
- Atlanta general admission tickets are on sale NOW at Ticketmaster... and a small number of Atlanta VIP packages are also available! Go snatch ‘em up before it’s too late!

San Francisco - Regency Ballroom - this venue has been chosen because the DNA Lounge (a well known SF venue) has been subjected to a change in its fire regulations & its capacity has been reduced as a result but more importantly it is now a 21+ venue, & the tour promoter is doing his utmost to secure ALL AGES shows at ALL venues. I have also been told by an ASF News list member that they had a tour of the Regency Ballroom after its restoration and re-opening as the venue that it is now. They said that the ballroom is amazing with great acoustics & a theatre type vibe that will be fantastic with the environment that Alien Sex Fiend create on-stage.

Mexico - The promoter is definitely trying to get a show in Mexico added after the Los Angeles date.

VIP Packages - Currently these are available at the Atlanta, NYC, Denver & LA shows. More shows may be added but I have no further information at this time.

AND FINALLY - I don't know about shows in Canada, I don't know about Boston, or Jacksonville, or anything else at the moment, & The Fiends themselves don't either, but as soon as I hear anything I will post the information up here & I will send an "ASF News" email to all my subscribers.

2008 will be the 25th anniversary year of the infamous ORIGINAL BATCAVE TOUR of 1983 which featured Alien Sex Fiend & Specimen.... It now seems very likely that Specimen will be reforming for this tour & will be appearing with us at these shows...

Alien Sex Fiend, the legendary band that established the word "Batcave" gave a magnificent show after a ten year break since their last visit to Berlin. In comparison to the relics of the post punk era that have recently emerged from their graves, such as Bauhaus, Alien Sex Fiend did not deliver a boring "oldies" show. In fact, such a thing would be impossible with Alien Sex Fiend, almost no other band is as inspired as The Fiends for experimental avantgardism. ASF have always been ahead of their time, and all these years later even their older songs, such as those from the 1984 period, still remain experimental, artistic, psychedelic and weird. Furthermore, they do not play the songs exactly as we know them from the albums, but instead they create a new blend or mix, so that at every Alien Sex Fiend concert, every time, each song is made over anew. How far and psychotic their songs can become can be gauged by listening to their live CD "Flashbacks" and when also seen in the flesh in concert, ASF songs are given an additional theatrical touch courtesy of their highly entertaining stage show.

Nik Fiend spins bones, skulls and sex dolls around in a spooky batcave stage set. He sings (in EAST Berlin) “Cos everybody wants what everybody's got , And everybody's got what everybody wants” and throws a giant inflatable banana into the audience (Andy 456 remarks: I now remember that bananas were very rare in the east of Germany in former times....so this has added poignance in Berlin.). Hits like "I Walk The Line" are played differently, the band deal with the topic and recreate it again and again, via hand made electronic music with a sawing guitar. Nik is like an alien voodoo priest who you totally believe in when he sings the words 'Now I'm feeling zombiefied' - and he also zombiefies the attentive audience, pulling them into an alternative world of psychotic madness. For sure, only Alien Sex Fiend could cover a song like "Hurricane Fighter Plane" in its true spirit. The original song was recorded by The Red Crayola along with the Familiar Ugly during a wild studio session on LSD for the album "The Parable Of Arable Land". Familiar Ugly was a 50 man freak gang & by making sounds with whatever was available including the striking of matches & cranking motorcycles, they underpinned the coolest psychedelic soundtrack ever, complete with apocalyptic, sawing acid guitar. The tracks were strikingly listed as 'A Free Form Freak-Out' on that album and it is one of the holy grails of the Acid Hippie Weirdo Culture - it is exactly this spirit that Alien Sex Fiend used to have and showed that they still do have on the 24th of November in Berlin's Postbahnhof - a Free Form, Freak-Out - just as completely mad and no less vivid as the last time I experienced them back in the 1980s.
