We managed a visit to see our mates' car "Nosferatu" which we mentioned in the August update & congratulations are due - they are now the fastest door slammer in Europe with a 198mph & 6.91 time! Yaay! We missed them achieving that particular milestone but caught the car's very hairy encounter with the wall - there's a video clip of it up on their website but I tell ya it REALLY doesn't show how very damn scary it was from a spectator's point of view! We held our collective breath while waiting for the car to roll over - BUT the driver - The Fearless Count - showed how truly fearless he is & he tamed the beast to reach the finish line.... the bad news was that Nosferatu had severly damaged bodywork & Vince's fantastic paint job had been completely buggered BUT Nosferatu is the car that wouldn't die! & although it's out of action for a while - it will return!

Firstly - & the best known to us - was Brian "Renfield" Nelson, who had been Alice Cooper's personal assistant & archivist since 1980. He unexpectedly passed away in June whilst working on the European leg of Alice's tour. There is little more information available at this time, except to say that it was a terrible shock for everyone who knew him & that both Brian's family & Alice himself have requested privacy & we are upholding that. All we can say further is a massive big thank you to Brian for always looking after us, above & beyond the call of duty, both during the Nightmare Returns tour when we supported Alice, as well as in recent years during our post-show backstage get-togethers. He will be sorely missed by all who knew him...

Secondly, another shock was hearing of Andy Hughes (ex-The Orb) who passed away aged 44 in June in the UK after a short illness. He was involved in mixing & production on albums such as "Orbus Terrarum" & "Orblivion" & certainly contributed to giving us many happy listening moments....

And thirdly, although we never got to meet him personally, & again in June (what was going on in June???) Sky Saxon, lead singer & bassist of the Los Angeles-based psychedelic 60s garage rock band, The Seeds, also departed this world in Austin, Texas. If you haven't heard of The Seeds you can still find their music - songs such as their (probably) best known single "Pushin' Too Hard" appears on compilations like The Nuggets series, these are corking compilations & are highly recommended.....

All we can do is to thank them all, & send our condolences to their families & friends, & to say that their passing has given us even more impetus to continue to create our own music...... Mrs Fiend & Nik

Each entry was assigned a numbered ticket & all the tickets were thrown in the air. Mrs Fiend then had to catch the winning tickets.

This woz one of Nik's bright ideas - ho hum...The tickets ended up all over the place, including in my hair! Not to mention that I nearly fell out of my top jumping up & down! Mrs F
